Josie Bennett
Josie Bennett (she/her), from Richmond, VA, will be graduating with a BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University in May 2026. She studied dance at Henrico High School Center for the Arts, Barbara Hammond’s School of Dance, and Central Virginia Dance Academy. She has extended her training to the Orange Grove Dance Summer Intensive 2024 & 2025, David Dorfman Dance Emerging Artist Summer Intensive 2024, and the RESET Retreat 2025. Josie has performed with faculty and guest artists such as Eric Rivera, Autumn Proctor, Stephanie Martinez, and Bradley Shelver, as well as performing in several senior capstone projects. She is currently working with Orange Grove Dance as the rehearsal assistant for their residency, which is being presented in VCU Dance Now 2026. Her dance film work has been screened at VCUArts Rough Cuts 2025 & 2026 and the ACDA Mid-Atlantic Screen Dance Showing 2025. She is currently a company member with Dogwood Dance Project for their 2025-2026 season and plans to continue her dance career in the Richmond community after graduation, hoping to perform, choreograph, and pursue arts management.
I am excited to intern with RMC to be a part of such a community space and immerse myself in more sides of the dance world!
