Kate Lingo
Kate Lingo (they/them) is a choreographer and dance artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Kate is currently pursuing their BFA in Dance + Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in May 2026. While at VCU, Kate has performed in faculty works by Autumn Proctor Waddell and Scott Putman, as well as a guest artist work by Kayla Farrish. They have also worked as a rehearsal assistant with Autumn Proctor Waddell and guest artist Jelani Taylor. Lingo has furthered their training at the American Dance Festival, performing in works by Jenna Riegel and Trisha Brown. Kate is a recipient of the Nathan M. Clark Foundation scholarship, allowing them to attend ADF. Their work has been shown at Rough Cuts Student Film Screening in 2025 & 2026, VCU’s Student Concert, and First Fridays at the Richmond Movement Center. Kate is a member of National Dance Honors Society and National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) and is certified in Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS) Level I.
I am excited to be a part of the community at the Richmond Movement Center! The safe and welcoming atmosphere makes it a great place to explore and try new things.
